Optum Health Solutions (OHS) has an opportunity for a VP, Solution Sales Executive for Complex Specialty High Needs and Lifestyle and Prevention Solutions for Payers. This position will have primary responsibility for business development activity including prospecting, qualification, value demonstration, and opportunity closure. The candidate must have direct selling and solutioning expertise, be a dynamic, multi - level thinker and have a strong willingness to help clients solve their problems specific to clinical complex and chronic conditions.
OHS portfolio consists of products and services that help to manage the medical expenses for complex and specialized populations by providing support services and tools that enable consumers to make informed decisions manage their health conditions. OHS improves outcomes and reduces total cost of care with provider decision support, utilization management, networks/centers of excellence, payment integrity and specialized clinical management. We serve the unique needs of a population by delivering effective and sustained consumer engagement. Our Solutions bring clinical, financial and operational data together from across the enterprise and provides actionable analytics for Payers to improve efficiency, lower costs and improve patient care.

Primary Responsibilities:
Sell Optum Health Solutions (OHS) to new and / or existing clients in the Payer market
Assume responsibility and accountability for assigned annual sales revenue goals and maintains a robust, qualified new business pipeline
Ensures expansion of Optum's solutions within their assigned clients including OnePass, Specialty Fusion, Musculoskeletal, Kidney, Transplant, Oncology, Maternity, Fertility, NICU, Nurseline, FCR and strategic partnerships
Possess or develop subject matter expertise and knowledge on (OHS) solutions / products / services designed to engage consumers, modernize infrastructure, and advance care across the health care industry, inclusive of individual, market and / or enterprise solutions
Participate in, and at times own / lead, sales process, and client engagement through the sale, coordinating with all necessary parties (ex. legal, pricing, finance, etc.) to close a sale
Display exceptional strategic selling skills including discovery, ROI development and presentation, sales cycle maintenance, tactical planning and closing, including use of Edge methodology when navigating the sales process
Cultivate and deepen C-suite and/or complex client relationships, and include Optum executives when appropriate for support
Develop consultative relationships and be a trusted advisor to the client to demonstrate how Optum can provide value for the client to meet their objectives
Communicate and present effectively at multiple audiences and levels (listening, written and verbal communication)
Demonstrate consistent activity disciplines to maximize new business development and assure perpetual pipeline growth
Manage the sales cycle by using weekly pipeline and account reviews to include all stakeholders
Establish, build, and maintain positive, professional relationships and interaction at all decision levels
Participate in trade shows and other industry events as appropriate
Provide input for product enhancement and new product development
Communicate issues, concerns, and problems in a solution-oriented manner
Provide intelligence to the organization on competitive activity
Clearly demonstrate problem - solving capacity and the ability to be timely and responsive
Be a positive force and a 'team leader'
Ensure accurate and timely entry of sales opportunity information using our CRM tool
Ability to work independently as a solid team player with minimal supervision in a high paced, high intensity environment

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or commensurate experience
3 years of sales/business development experience selling to Payers with background in consultative sales with focus on clinical programs serving those with complex and chronic conditions or Medicare benefits
Successful track record of effectively partnering with Payers and Providers
Successfully developed and closed Payer deals with annual sales target achieved of $5M or more
Ability to travel minimum 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
Clinical, nurse, pharmacy, pharmaceutical sales, and/or specialty drug space experience
Experience in care management, disease management - specifically solutions that provide actionable analytics for providers to reduce cost of care, improve access to care, improve the patient experience and guide and support providers with the most up to date evidence-based care
Solid professional reputation within the health industry. Experience obtaining immediate access to decision makers within the proposed territory
Deep knowlelge of Medicare Advantage plans
Possess a client-focused orientation that balances the needs of the client with the needs of the company
Solid presentation skills - face to face, webinar, phone conversation
Demonstrated consultative selling skills and solid team focus that keeps the clients’ needs at the forefront
Superior communication skills: written, oral, interpersonal

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington residents is $90,000 to $180,000. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
