As a Product Director at UnitedHealthcare (UHC), you will build and execute a strategic roadmap across multiple teams for a highly visible and critically important consumer sales experience within the Medicare and Retirement space. You will work closely with your product teams, key internal partners including other Product teams, Content, Analytics, UHC Marketing, and Optum Tech to ideate, build, and launch new product features.

The ideal person for this role is passionate about changing how our customers engage with our products and understand how to build scalable B2C/B2B2C products making analytically driven decisions the digital experience. The preferred location for this role is the Minnetonka, MN office. Candidates who would work remotely from within the United States will also be considered. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead product strategy, experience, and go to market delivery
  • Develop products by identifying potential new capabilities required by consumers or buildout of existing - conducting market research, generating product requirements, developing marketing strategies, determining specifications, and time-integrated plans for product introduction/cycling
  • Determine customers’ needs by specifying the research needed to obtain market information
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product changes by reviewing product specifications and requirements, understanding business value, new product ideas and/or product changes
  • Assess market competition by comparing the company’s product to competitors’ products
  • Provide information to senior leaders by preparing short-term and long-term product utilization and success reports
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs, preparing return-on-investment analyses, and establishing time schedules with product owners and development teams
  • Work with marketing and sales departments to ensure product success
  • Recruit, train, and manage various product teams by planning, monitoring results
  • Complete operational requirements and drive adherence across product teams while meeting product development deadlines by supporting and holding accountable team members, following up on work results, quality control and testing
  • Identify and manage new and existing product partnerships with internal UHC and Optum cross functional teams, as well as external vendors

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of equivalent professional work experience
  • 8 years of digital marketing experience
  • Experience developing a multi-year digital strategy, focused on user and business needs
  • Experience leading a team in the strategy, execution, and optimization of digital user experiences
  • Experience with analytics tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing and user experience best practices including responsive design
  • Understanding of DTC digital prospect acquisition and measurement
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing agency relationships relative to UX and related activities
  • Health care experience or experience in other interactive and digital industries such as retail and financial services
  • Experience working successfully in a large, matrixed organization
  • Digital industry expert with a passion for staying current
  • Understanding of content management systems (i.e. Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, etc.)
  • Ability to create and refine processes toward efficient execution
  • Ability to understand and optimize the entire user experience funnel, leveraging testing and personalization tools (i.e. Adobe Target, etc.)
  • Solid empathy for consumers and a passion for understanding how to meet their needs
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships to establish trust and credibility across a matrixed, cross-functional team

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $118,000 to $226,800. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
