SQL Developer

Job Summary:

This position is in office full time in Hauppauge NY.

In the SQL Developer role, you will be working directly under the supervision of Sr. Manager of ERP and Reporting by developing new SQL database objects as well as creating the following complex SQL and reports in Crystal Reports / SSRS / PowerBI. To be successful in this role, you must be confident in your knowledge of SQL, ability to code and design financial and statistical dashboards and reports.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and enforce database security based upon best practices and company policies.
• You will engage in all phases of software development: from designing application models to creation, testing, debugging, deployment, and training of end-users.
• You will document detailed specifications of both: internally developed applications and software used in company, including flowcharts, diagrams, and charts.
• Documentation skills are required for processes and procedures: creating knowledge base articles.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a solid understanding of the multiple types of SQL Join Queries: inner join, left join, right join, full outer join.
• Must possess a solid understanding of data integrity, primary keys, foreign keys, data consistency.
• High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions to the problem on-hand, and at the same time open to discussions to follow business objectives and strategies.
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
• Capable of managing responsibilities.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Must be very well organized, innovative, and motivated.
• 3 years of professional work experience writing SQL scripts: complex queries / tables / views / triggers / indexes / constraints / functions / stored procedures, etc.
• 3 years of work experience designing and creating reports in Crystal Reports or MS Report Designer for SSRS: including reports with sub-reports, drill-down reports, cross-tab reports.
• Experience in data modeling for the creation and deployment of cubes using SSAS.
• Experience working in the different modules of an ERP System: Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Equipment, General Ledger, etc.
• Excellent oral and written communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of SQL Server SSMS: solutions and projects.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Mathematics / Engineering or relevant work experience.
