Patient Service Manager - Jacksonville

Education: High school degree or GED equivalent.  Minimum of an Associate Degree with Certified Dietary Manager licensure or eligible. Preferred 1-2 years of supervisory experience in food services. Job requires reading, writing and math.  Some computer knowledge useful.  

Training and Experience:    Ability to understand written and oral instructions.  Good communication and telephone skills essential.  Pleasant disposition needed due to extensive patient contact.  Previous experience as a nursing assistant or in other patient-related position desirable but not required.  Requires on-the-job training. 

Job Knowledge:  Must be flexible and able to meet deadlines established.  Must practice sanitation and safety. Knowledge of foodservice administration, principles, and practices within the healthcare environment. General knowledge of medical nutrition therapy.

DESCRIPTION:   Plans and oversees the activities and personnel of the foodservice operation.

Primary responsibilities include supervising food production and service; ensuring that the food served is nutritious and attractive; managing staff; reviewing and updating policies as needed; implementing and maintaining quality and cost-control procedures; maintaining professional competencies and skills required to practice. Trains, manages, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of associates reporting to this position. Resolves conflicts using constructive coaching techniques while providing associate feedback that is timely, clear, and appropriate.  Interviews, hires new associates, supervises orientation and training. Prepares work schedules for foodservice staff. Demonstrates proper responsibility and reliability for all staffing coverage.  Directs Department meetings and attends administrative educational functions as appropriate. Assist in preparation of budget and recommends capital expenditures appropriately.   Willing to perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Effort:  Long hours of standing, walking, bending, pushing and lifting up to 50 pounds, manual dexterity and motion coordination.

Mental Effort:  Must be able to perform duties under stressful situations.
