Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System is seeking a School Therapist for our Innovations Academy Therapeutic Day School. Under the direction of the Principal, the School Therapist performs clinical functions to include assisting students in meeting their social, emotional, and academic needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, and specialized clinical services for students within the school environment. The clinical services provided include crisis intervention and individual therapy addressing goals provided on the student I.E.P.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: A Masters Degree in a mental health/human services field from an accredited college (counseling, social work, psychology) is required. A minimum of two (2) years experience is preferred in a school, special education, or behavioral health setting, with direct experience in individual therapy, crisis intervention skills, and vocational/transitional planning and guidance. Strong clinical assessment skills, with a majority of experience focused on the child/adolescent population.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: LPC/LSW Required, LCPC/LCSW Preferred or an Illinois Certification Type 73 (School Social Worker) is required. Primary Source Verification shall be required through Illinois Department of Professional Regulations
