What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Kitchen Equipment Technician position at Universal Orlando?
JOB SUMMARY: Assist in the diagnosing, repair and install of all restaurant equipment and the preventative maintenance on all equipment. Includes removing and installing of new/used restaurant equipment while developing diagnosing and troubleshooting skills of all equipment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with diagnosing, repair, preventative maintenance, and install of Refrigeration equipment including, but not limited to; coolers, freezers, ice machines, glycol systems, ice cream machines, and keg coolers.
- Assist with diagnosing, repair, preventative maintenance, and install of Industrial kitchen and bakery equipment including, but not limited to mixers, direct steam kettles, proofers, sheeters, dough rounder’s and rack ovens.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Assist with diagnosing, repair, preventative maintenance, and install of Commercial gas and electric kitchen equipment including, but not limited to, fryers, steamers and ovens such as pressure cookers, steam kettles, tilt skillets, commercial dish machines, Combi-ovens, microwaves, stoves and conveyor type ovens, broilers and espresso machines.
- Assist with Preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment as required, including steamer de-scaling, burner cleaning, and regular monthly maintenance as required per manufacture specifications.
- Training from manufacturers on updated repair procedures and changing technology on solid-state controls.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE: Assist in repairing and installing restaurant equipment.
EDUCATION:
- High school degree or GED is required.
- Technical school is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 3 - 5 Years; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Florida Driver’s License/ required to operate company vehicles.
- (EPA) Universal Refrigerant Certification is required.
- A Certification of training issued by either a State Regulatory agency or technical trade school is preferred.
