What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dir Materials Management Ops position at University Health?
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs, supervises and coordinates all operational functions related to, logistics, inventory control and distribution activities;. Provides skilled, timely and efficient support to the Executive Director of Supply Chain by assuring that strategies are developed and executed in the aforementioned delineated areas for optimization of assigned inventory stock levels of products. The continuing challenge of this position is to provide, create, direct, track, monitor and modify processes, procedures and trends relative to efficiencies and effectiveness of the supply chain management function as it relates to the operational and optimization aspects of materials management (i.e. materials management and inventory control, and logistics,). Materials Management & Inventory span of control relates to both Patient Care and Perioperative/Surgical Services.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in logistics, distribution, warehousing, supply chain management, or procurement and acquisition is required. A Master’s Degree in one of these disciplines is preferred. Five years supervisory experience in the materials management field is required. Six or more years of supervisory experience in the materials management field is preferred. Extensive and successful materials management/supply chain leadership experience within a complex healthcare organization, healthcare GPO or Materials & Resource (CMRP) certification is a plus.
