GENERAL DUTIES
Examines and diagnoses the gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides for infectious, pre-malignant, and malignant disease processes.
Performs postanalytical activities related to cytology and laboratory testing as needed.
Performs daily documentation of interpretations to include the total number of slides screened and the total number of hours spent screening.
Maintains specimen integrity and patient identification of all samples examined.
Reports results into the laboratory information system, as applicable.
Maintains confidentiality of patient test results in accordance with regulations.
Complies with all corporate, safety, quality control and quality assurance standards.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Cytotechnology or equivalent.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
CLS Cytotechnology issued by LSBME
