Position Summary:
The Alaska Resources Library & Information Services (ARLIS) is the library of eight federal, state, and University resource management agencies. It co-located with the Consortium Library but separately managed. ARLIS provides a major natural and cultural resources information collection utilized by public resource management agencies, private industry, environmental groups, students, faculty, and the general public. This job offers the convenience of working on campus and the flexibility of working around your classes. Supported by the Bureau of Land Management, the purpose of the project is to process, digitize, and store unique Federal Power Withdrawal Site Hand-Illustrated Maps and make them broadly available to federal and state agencies, research communities, and the public.Duties:
High school diploma or GED is required. Typical examples of prior training include experience working in a library or with performing data entry.
Must be a University of Alaska student, enrolled and regularly attending six (6) or more credit hours and must possess a 2.0 or better cumulative grade point average (CGPA).
$11.34/hour
The library assistant must be able to work 20 hours per week within the overall time frame of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The library assistant will work to maximize output in the project time frame. Project positions are dependent on funding. This is anticipated to be a 10-month position.
