Position Summary:
Peer Health Educators are a highly valuable student position to the UAA community. They provide bystander intervention training for sexual assault/domestic violence prevention across campus. We are looking for high energy individuals that are excited to engage their fellow students in learning about healthy behaviors and lifestyles. Peer Health Educators will develop presentation, group communication, planning, decision-making, and other leadership skills. This position is 5 hours per week with frequent evening and weekend programming. Be part of a energized team!Duties:
To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must have the following requisites: 1) They must be enrolled at the University of Alaska Anchorage with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; 2) Have a least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA); 3) Have completed one semester at the University of Alaska Anchorage with at least 6 credit hours.
Health Promotion experience, presentation skills, and mentoring experience are a plus.
Participation in previous university clubs and organizations preferred.
Hourly Rate:
$14.96/hour for 10 hours per pay period (biweekly- every two weeks).
