Position Highlights

The Exam Coordinator has the responsibility to coordinate, set up, and ensure disability related accommodations are in place for classroom tests on the Phoenix Biomedical campus at the University of Arizona. The coordinator position serves as a part of the Disability Resource Center (DRC) accommodation team, providing support to faculty, students and staff to assure curricular access in an efficient, effective and respectful manner. The Exam Coordinator should be flexible, adaptable and forward thinking.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinates outreach to faculty regarding exam design. Responds to inquiries, clarifying accommodations and coordinates exam administration outside of classroom setting. Additionally, supports other accommodation services for student access to curriculum.
  • Arranges logistical setup, coordination and proctoring of exams for colleges on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus.
  • Ensures security of testing materials received from/returned to faculty, monitors integrity of testing process and reports violations to faculty and/or Dean of Students.
  • Coordinates with students and staff to provide updated information on the delivery of exam accommodations and provides IT support as needed.
  • Collects test materials from faculty prior to exam and collects completed materials at end of testing period and returns as appropriate to faculty
  • Problem solves individual situations, by collecting pertinent information and making independent access decisions.
  • Collaborates as an integral part of the team in making decisions; Refers faculty, staff and students to appropriate DRC team members when needed.
  • Works closely with alternate media staff to obtain exam materials in an alternate format.
  • Organizes and pulls data to determine trends and identify points for outreach
  • Participates actively with both DRC and Phoenix Biomedical staff to ensure seamless access and communication
  • Makes decisions regarding flexibility in operations within established limits, practices and procedures
  • Maintains appropriate records by documenting communication with and regarding students, courses and instructors in departmental database; records recommended actions or accommodations and curricular information

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND one year of administrative/coordinative program experience;
  • OR, Six years of progressively responsible administrative coordinative program experience;
  • OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 or more years of administrative/coordinative program experience
  • Experience working in higher education or a community college setting.
