Summary of Job Duties:
Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing effective teaching methodologies. Maintain expertise in field of study and teaching pedagogy/andragogy. Maintain active participation in professional organizations as appropriate. Assists with accreditation documents and handbooks. Makes recommendations to Department Chairperson regarding budgetary needs. Participates in Advisory Board meetings. Participates in student recruitment. Prepare course syllabi using departmental/university template. Assist in the development of the departmental course schedule. Provide required forms and papers to the Registrar’s Office within the specified time frame. Maintain appropriate records of student performance. Demonstrate procedures in nursing skills laboratory and progressive mastery of simulations. Supervise student demonstrations, and evaluate student performances. Provide input in curriculum development and research. Participate in departmental and university committees as assigned. Counsel and advise students as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s in Nursing Science degree; Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license or eligible to be licensed in the state of Arkansas. Three to five years teaching experience preferably in a BSN education program.
