Professor Chunlei Liu's research lab in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley welcomes applicants for an Assistant Project Scientist in remote cell stimulation using radio frequency (RF) magnetic fields. The lab's main research interest is developing engineering approaches to study the brain. The current focuses are in three areas: 1) developing non-invasive MRI techniques for visualizing human brain structure and function, 2) developing non-invasive remote cell modulation techniques to modulate neuronal activity and 3) applications to the understanding and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

Duties of the position include but are not limited to:
Design and conduct experiments to test the efficacy and applications of RF stimulation in a variety of cell types and under various in vitro and in vivo conditions;
Design and conduct experiments to investigate the mechanisms of the stimulation;
Design and conduct experiments to improve the biological and hardware systems;
Conduct collaborative research with collaborators;
Data analysis and manuscript and proposal preparation;
Conduct research presentations;
Train and mentor new trainees.
