The CTSC, established in 2006 through a 5-year $20 million dollar grant by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that has now been extended into a 4th, 5-year term. The CTSC is an academic home for clinical research to transform the clinical and translational research enterprise. The CTSC includes several distinct scientific and educational programs as well as shared resources and clinical facilities to enhance and support the clinical research programs at UC Davis and provide Investigators with the tools to foster clinical and translational research. Under the auspices of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Biomedical Research, the CTSC supports Investigators across the School of Medicine and the UC Davis main campus to promote translational and interdisciplinary research. As the academic home for clinical and translational research, the CTSC works with NIH and other funded CTSA awardees to expedite the translation and integration of science from a variety of disciplines into discoveries and treatments that will benefit society.
This position serves as Administrative Supervisor 1 for the Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) in the UC Davis School of Medicine. The position reports to the CTSC Finance Manager and requires frequent interaction with the School of Medicine Dean’s Office, Business Contracts, Accounts Payable, and CTSC program managers. The incumbent will lead the CTSC administrative group of 2 Administrative Assistants in the daily operations of the CTSC. In addition to supervision and workload tracking and management, the incumbent will be responsible for facilities and building safety, general financial transactions, procurement, reimbursements, assisting in onboarding, internal communications, supply and equipment management, event production and support, and other administrative duties associated with a medium size research center.
- Excellent organizational skills sufficient to perform multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines in a matrix environment
- Willingness to assume responsibility readily and plan, prioritize, and perform various tasks simultaneously and efficiently, under limited supervision
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy in the development and review of written work
- Excellent skill in time management and priority-setting
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to solve moderately complex problems with effective solution
- Knowledge of University and UCDHS policies, procedures and resources, including process and procedures and generally accepted principles and practices
- Ability to anticipate operational needs, forecast deadlines, set objectives/goals, multitask, and coordinate assignments including follow-ups.
- Ability to manage and complete tasks in a time efficient manner and develop methods for improving program administration
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally to various stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively within team environment
- Ability to deal with conflict in a constructive manner, work in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to organizational change
- Establish and maintain filing systems, databases and spreadsheets. Must be able to coordinate and organize a high volume of record files efficiently.
- Experience working with managers, staff, faculty, and clinicians
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and materials
- Ability to represent the Department in a professional manner
