The Department of Student Affairs Resources supports the financial, operational, and human resources components of the work of all departments within the Division of Student Affairs.
Job Summary
Under general direction of the Director of Budget & Finance for the Division of Student Affairs, provide varied analytical, financial, and administrative assistance within the department of Student Affairs Resources. Responsibilities include basic analysis, purchasing, accounts payable, labor adjustments, general administration and reconciliation, and adjustments on accounts including clearing overdrafts. Provide timely processing and maintain accurate records related to labor and other expenses. Work closely with management and staff to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of disbursement data and payments and the proper accounting of disbursements. Work closely with finance staff in coordinating invoices for submission to Central Campus Accounts Payable for payment. Maintain Chart of Accounts in financial system (Kuali). Maintain proper documentation for audit trails and participate in audits. At fiscal close, reconcile records and verify items not processed by deadlines; assist with year-end processes. Work with finance, accounting, and management staff on a wide range of projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience providing general support in accounting and administrative related activities with knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Experience using Excel for general fiscal and administrative projects and reports.
- Experience with purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel and entertainment transactions, and using online accounting, financial and payroll systems.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :
- Accounting and finance skills, including ability to conduct financial analysis, ledger reconciliation and fiscal close activities.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high-volume environment.
- Interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills to work effectively with staff at all levels regarding processes and procedures; anticipate problems and handle associated issues in a professional manner.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Experience interpreting university policies and procedures to meet departmental objectives and goals.
- Experience with automated financial systems (KFS, Decision Support, Online Prepurchasing, AggieTravel, Cashnet, UCPath and Cognos).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
- Organizational skills to work on projects with competing deadlines and to establish goals and workload priorities, flexibility in dealing with people and competing demands.
- Knowledge of grant administration.
