UCI Dining Services provides food services to the main campus at over 30 dining locations on campus including 2 residential dining halls, 29 retail dining locations, catering, and concessions. We employ over 140 full time employees and over 800 student employees. The residential dining halls provides a 7 day service operation that ranges between 7:00am through midnight. The academic year at UC Irvine is from September through June and summer school from mid-June through early September. Employment is typically during the academic year and limited employment is available during the summer.
Under supervision of F.S. Manager and or Sr. Cook, incumbent performs journeyman level food preparation. This would include: proper food handling, proper knife and equipment handling, proper sanitation and cleaning of equipment. Recording of product usage, plating of food, portion control, cooking, assisting in catering and special events.
Compensation Range:
$21.38 hourly, plus $1,000 hiring bonus upon successful completion of 60 days of employment

Required:
Must have a minimum of 2 years cooking experience.
Knowledge of cooking and food preparation. Knowledge of safe food handling guidelines.
Operating equipment correctly, stocking ability.
Cleaning and sanitizing.
Skill to communicate clearly to a variety of people.
Preferred:
Speak, write and understand the English language.
Special Conditions Preferred:
Work days may vary: Sunday through Saturday Work hours may vary between 6:00am-1:00am
