Department F&A Project Management About the Department The Strategic Initiates team supports the Office of the CFO in the Finance and Administrative Division. Our goal is to ensure the Division is strategically and organizationally equipped to provide outstanding support to the University's mission, vision, and distinctive strengths. We deliver this outcome through ongoing continuous improvement efforts and major projects or strategic initiatives. Job Summary Reporting to the Lead Project Manager for Strategic Initiatives for Finance and Administration (F&A), the Project Manager for Strategic Initiatives supports the Office of the CFO by managing the implementation of the University's financial, strategic, and operational priorities. Responsibilities Plans, manages, and reports on projects and assignments related to strategic initiatives in collaboration with all members of the Finance and Administration senior leadership team, Provost's Office, and other academic and administrative divisions across campus. Independently leads project management delivery for major University initiatives, including planning, communication, and execution, with cross-functional teams across administrative and academic units. Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation including detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Defines project milestones, establishes timelines, monitors and tracks project progress, and escalates risks and issues to management as needed. Drafts and publishes communications content through authorized channels, such as website and email, to ensure content is up-to-date and accessible to key stakeholders. Gathers and analyzes data from multiple sources across campus to inform decision-making (i.e., define and quantify the impact of various options for senior leaders). Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data to identify relevant insights; synthesizes insights and identifies areas for further analysis and gaps. Manages reporting and data visualization processes to monitor service and project delivery across the Finance and Administration Division. Leverages shared intellectual capital of project team and campus partners to improve ability to advance project-based strategic initiatives. Coordinates events, researches logistics, assists with planning and preparing presentations, event outreach, and post-event write ups. Assists with other administrative projects as needed and acquire higher level guidance and skills. Performs other related work as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field. --- Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline. --- Certifications: --- Preferred Qualifications Experience: Two to five years of work experience in project management and/or higher education administration. One years experience leading activities in large complex projects from conception through successful conclusion. Technical Skills or Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio. Utilize spreadsheet software and analyze data to interpret financial and non-financial data, produce reports, and present statistical information. Preferred Competencies Capable of independently managing projects with cross-functional teams. Moderate experience distilling complex information into an executive level summary. Collaborate effectively with a diverse network of stakeholders. Moderate experience developing custom approaches, analyses, and interpretation of results for specific projects and audiences. Experience participating in organizational change and/or transformation intiatives. Exhibits strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills. Manage individual and team assignments with minimal supervision to deliver a defined outcome. Manage competing priorities, work simultaneously on multiple initiatives, and meet deadlines. Identify inaccuracies in analysis based on outputs in addition to specific errors in mechanics. Participate as a team player and positively influence a group. Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
