Position Summary
The Associate Director of Graduate Admissions is a creative and knowledgeable professional who works collaboratively with the University community to assist in the planning, development and implementation of graduate recruitment and admission. In this leadership position, the Associate Director will actively contribute to the graduate recruitment activities of the department that promote a commitment to the University’s mission.
Essential Duties
· Serve as an information resource to students, faculty and staff by maintaining knowledge of Detroit Mercy graduate programs and admission requirements.
· Work with the university academic sector to design efficient and effective guidelines and processes for the graduate student admission process.
· Evaluate data from self-initiated and standard enrollment reports to determine actions which will maximize recruitment efforts
· Develop, implement and evaluate graduate recruitment initiatives and related admission events
· Initiate contact and develop relationships with local metro Detroit businesses and professional organizations
· Communicate with internal colleges to recruit current students at Detroit Mercy
· Initiate, develop and maintain relationships with 4 year colleges regarding career and college fairs
· Assist with the development and execution of communication and marketing content.
· Oversee graduate student campus visits
· Assist with recruitment and marketing campaigns
· Maintain communication with graduate prospects through the inquiry to enrollment stage.
· Review academic qualifications and communicate with colleges to ensure timely admission decisions.
· Communicate and explain financial aid information to prospective and admitted students
· Collaborate with various University stakeholders during the recruitment and admission process
· Recruit at day and evening events as a representative of the University
· Work with the Director to refine systems by which to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment programs and processing activities
· Contribute to the overall success of Office of Admissions and the University by performing other duties and responsibilities as needed
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of progressive admission and recruitment experience preferred. A Master’s degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Knowledge of graduate program recruitment
• Digital marketing experience
• Networking skills especially with educational & administrative leadership
• Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and respond to the market trends to renew or adapt marketing strategies.

· High energy, attention to detail and the ability to organize effectively
· Clear verbal and written abilities with effective interpersonal skills
· Strong public speaker with informative and persuasive speaking skills

· Available to work evenings and weekends
· Proficiency working in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and social media outlets
· Willingness to acquire an understanding of the Mercy and Jesuit commitment to excellence in education, diversity of the student body, social service, and the liberal arts and sciences traditions. The goals and priorities of a value-centered education must be reflected in any recruitment program and by the presentations of the admissions counselor.

Physical Requirements
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Work Environment
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
Salary/Pay Information
$55,000-$60,000
Licenses/Certifications
· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
· Privately owned vehicle required for University business
Anticipated Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 5:00 some evenings and weekends.
