Overview of Position
The Evansville Promise Neighborhood (EPN) is a collaborative initiative between the University of Evansville, Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, E-REP, The Dream Center, Ivy Tech Community College and more, to provide cradle to career wrap around services for the children and families in the EPN. The EPN contains of twelve census tracts and six schools. The Marketing Coordinator will help coordinate this care throughout a continuum of school and community coordinated academic, social, and health services for students, students’ family members and neighborhood members that will result in improved educational outcomes for children. Pipeline services will be planned and implemented in stages to scale and achieve sustained results through the EPN.
Position Summary
The Marketing Coordinator works under the direction of the Director of the EPN in the creation and implementation of a strategic, multi-faceted communications and marketing program designed to strengthen and expand EPN’s reputation, inform and empower neighborhood residents to access the services provided, and keep funded partners accountable and engaged with access to transparent and inspirational sources of information. The Marketing Coordinator will create and distribute marketing, educational, and engagement messages using the most appropriate communication channels, in addition to actively monitoring analytics and ensuring EPN’s positioning in the nonprofit, philanthropic, educational, and urban planning communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Produces and implements an annual marketing and communications plan designed to enhance the visibility, reputation, and brand awareness of EPN.
- Works with the EPN Director, Sustainability Council, Neighborhood Advisory Council, and the partners to develop strategies and programs to enhance EPN’s activities including special events, assistance with grant writing, donor cultivation, as well as EPN family and partner engagement.
- Prepares well-written, comprehensive case-for-support reports, and other documentation.
- Manages all social media and designs the website for the EPN in partnership with the Evansville Promise Zone and University of Evansville.
- Maintains an organized calendar to ensure newsletters and other communication pieces are disseminated consistently.
- Assists with tailored thank you letters and other correspondence.
- Creates content for social media outlets and campaigns that highlight EPN’s mission, events, programs, marketing, and fundraising initiatives, and other efforts as determined by EPN staff.
- Tracks and increases EPN email subscriber count.
- Manages the creation, production, and distribution of all marketing materials such as press releases, newsletters, and publications (print and digital), Annual Reports, etc. and ensures the consistent use of all print and electronic branding assets such as letterhead and logos.
- Edits, and maintains EPN’s website content to ensure its ongoing usability, relevance, and accuracy.
- Identifies and develops testimonials and stories from volunteers, donors, and staff for use through our internal and external communications efforts.
- Tracks and reports marketing analytics.
- Develops professional relationships with representatives of the media.
- Writes press releases, op-eds, and feature stories.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related major is preferred.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or other relevant experience.
- Excellent critical and creative writing skills for different platforms, including the ability to write quickly, persuasively, and on deadline.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects, self-motivated, organized, and deadline driven.
- Experience with HTML or web development a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective interactions with staff, volunteers, clients, and donors.
Salary : $44,200 - $56,000
