What are the responsibilities and job description for the Necropsy Assistant- CARE position at University of Florida?
o Loading and unloading tissue digester and working with various equipment
o Using a hoist to load and unload a tissue digester
o Cleaning the equipment after loading
o Cleaning the coolers
o Cleaning the necropsy area with disinfectants
o Tissue Processing
o Assisting in the necropsy and disposal process. This includes showing students basic necropsy techniques and assisting the pathologist and residents during a necropsy
o Processing patients for cremation and working closely with outside cremation companies
o Participates in infectious disease necropsies and takes samples to the Alachua County Health Department when needed
o Sharpening knives
o Preparing various chemical solutions
o Customer assistance and administrative support
o Working with computers (scanning inventory) and bagging tissue
o Stocking lab areas with specific supplies when needed
o Talking to potential and current clients to assess needs and resolve issues
o Other duties as required
$16.00 hourly; commensurate with education and experience
High School diploma
Bachelors degree with 1 yr customer service.
