Position Summary
Assumes responsibility for the development, oversight and maintenance of a comprehensive NCAA, associated conferences, and institutional compliance program for the University of Hartford. In all actions, adheres to federal and state laws as they relate to financial aid administration, rules and regulations governing University, athletic conferences, and the NCAA, including assisting in the education process extended to alumni and the community. Performs all duties in full support of the University’s mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University’s students.

Description of Key Responsibility
Serves as the primary institutional liaison regarding NCAA compliance efforts. Maintains authoritative knowledge as well as provides interpretation of NCAA rules and regulations to coaches, student-athletes and the University community to support the institution’s compliance efforts for University sport programs.
Description of Key Responsibility
Oversees the review and evaluation of initial academic eligibility and continuing academic eligibility for all student-athletes. Identifies, reports and/or resolves compliance infractions with senior institutional administrators as necessary and/or appropriate. Prepares, reviews and approves academic eligibility documents and financial aid squad lists for all sports teams for certification purposes.

Compiles and submits all necessary data for annual reports mandated by the NCAA, including extensive academic performance program information, in an accurate and timely manner.

Prepares and presents monthly compliance education training classes on a full range of NCAA rules and regulations for coaches, administrators, student-athletes and booster groups.

Provides oversight for the Department of Athletics’ NCAA compliance functions. Oversees the coordination and delivery of compliance-related activities, prioritizing student-athlete services and support, reporting efficiencies as well as monitoring and maintaining accurate and useful compliance data.

Monitors recruiting activities and associated coaches’ recruiting documentation for compliance with associated NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations.
Description of Key Responsibility
Drafts, edits and submits all legislative waiver requests, student-athlete applications and associated reports to the NCAA and the America East as necessary and/or appropriate. Facilitates the University voting process regarding NCAA legislative proposals, forwarding recommendations to the Director of Athletics, the Faculty Athletics Representative and the University President for review.

Working closely with the Office of Student Financial Assistance, oversees athletics scholarship limits.

Assumes responsibilities for the management and oversight of associated departmental budgets to ensure prudent fiscal integrity. Creates budget reports as well as drafts financial and fiscal narrative as necessary and/or appropriate.
