Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work on complex technical or specialty area problems reflecting sound judgment and analysis.
2. Develop front-end user interfaces for new STAR web applications using Java/JavaScript/Angular/CSS/HTML framework and maintain existing STAR software.
3. Work semi independently, in tandem with back-end developers and as part of a team, all with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
- As typically acquired/evidenced by pertinent baccalaureate educational degree and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional information technology experience with responsibilities for software development; possession of the following competencies in technical knowledge, critical thinking skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills:
- Functional knowledge of STAR software development demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply principles, concepts, methodology and terminology.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of technology, systems, hardware and software associated with STAR software development.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems.
- Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related fields.
- Experience in HTML, CSS, Javascript, Java, jQuery and AJAX.
- Knowledge of version control tools such as CVS, SVN or GIT.
- Experience in modem IDEs.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Computer Science or related fields.
- Experience in GUI design and Tomcat.
- Knowledge of open source frameworks (Angular).
