Overview
The Li Lab at the RNA Therapeutics Institute at UMass Chan Medical School is seeking a Research Associate to work on RNA immunogenicity and circular mRNA purification. The Li lab is focused on developing platform technologies for mRNA therapeutics beyond vaccines. We use a combination of RNA biochemistry, immunology, and high-throughput sequencing technologies to understand how human immune cells respond to circular mRNAs. Major Responsibilities
- Perform primary research under the PI’s guidance and in collaboration with lab members
- Carry out lab work including molecular cloning, cell culture, CRISPR genome editing, RNA purification, and ELISA
- Collect, organize, and analyze data
- Engage intellectually in the lab’s research projects and contribute to a highly motivated and collaborative lab environment
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline
· One year or more cell culture lab experience
- Ability to work independently with appropriate training
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Judgment and action skills required to solve problems
- Commitment to this position for at least two years, with the goal of co-authoring primary research papers
