Summary
The Department of Emergency Medicine Research is searching for a highly-motivated Research Technician to work in the Sanderson Lab at NCRC. Their research focuses on basic science and translational research focused on cardiac arrest/resuscitation and perinatal brain injury. Specific areas of current focus include mechanisms of neuronal injury, neuroprotective therapies. Proficient in large animal (swine) and small animal surgery (mouse and rat). The applicant will work closely with several research faculty and other research staff in an established lab at NCRC.

Responsibilities*
Laboratory experiments will include the following techniques: Maintaining and documenting lab safety, general lab maintenance, overnight care of postoperative animals, rodent colony management, autoclaving, ordering supplies, preparation of stock solutions, and data management will be required. Participation in lab meetings and data presentation are expected. Must work effectively in a team setting, be able to communicate well, and keep clear records. Specific skills that are necessary also include ability to input and analyze data using common software programs. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
- Experience with anesthesia, surgery, and post-operative care preferred.
- Excellent multitasking and communication skills.
- Overnight shifts required.
Senior Level: Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years experience required.
Intermediate level: HS Diploma or Assoc Degree and 1-3 years experience required.
Desired Qualifications*
- Vet Tech
- Degree in veternary technology, biology, animal science
- 1-2 years experience and previous experience with large animals preferred.
- The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and time management skills, good communication skill, ability to work with minimal supervision, and strong enthusiasm for developing new skills and expertise.
Work Schedule
Full time Monday thru Friday. Flexible schedule with overnight shifts as well as weekend shifts depending on study.
Background Screening
