Summary:
Oversee planning, management and installation of landscape construction projects, and the operation of the unit's nursery.
Responsibilities:
Managing the daily operations of the landscape construction unit of Campus Facilities - Landscape Services (CF-LS). Demonstrate proficiency in the construction of landscapes including: planting, planter and lawn construction, constructing walls of segmented block and drainage and irrigation systems.
Coordinate the work of other Campus Facilities (CF) units that support these efforts.
Participate in landscape design reviews, site surveys, project layouts, utility locates and inspections of project sites. Provide insights and recommendations in the planning and specifications of materials/equipment used in landscape construction.
Manage the CF-LS nursery operations that include the care and inventorying of the plant materials used for campus landscape projects.
Supervise, train and evaluate the work of other CF-LS staff involved in the landscape construction activities of CF-LS.
Maintain electronic files, records and maps of the campus plantings/irrigation systems.
Develop and make recommendations for improvement/expansion to the campus landscape as well as campus irrigation systems.
Operate and maintain assigned equipment/vehicles.
Participate in the removal/treatment of snow/ice from the campus.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Monday - Friday
Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Certification in irrigation system maintenance and installation is required.
Commercial Driver's License is required.
Missouri Pesticide Applicators Certification is required.
Salary Range: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
Grade: GGS-008
