This position manages over 50 coders that provide professional coding for the clinical activities of University Physicians. This position works with Supervisors to review and monitor processes and procedures and adapt to an every changing coding environment. Work with Compliance to establish policies and procedures for coding staff. Monitor integrated coding systems for performance and efficiency and trouble shoot issues to maximize system efficiency. Ensure coding teams are working efficiently. Create and maintain training materials for provider and coding staff. Must be familiar with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations regarding professional coding. Leader in the revenue cycle processes to meet defined goals and objectives.
Salary Range: $99,174 - $161,720 annually
Grade: PAT - 013

This position is eligible for University Physicians work from home program.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management. Master’s Degree preferred. Four to five years supervisory experience in the Medical Record field is necessary.
Registration as a Registered Health Information Administrator by the American Health Information Management Association is necessary.
Knowledgeable in complex computer applications.
Must have professional coding certifications such as CPC. At least 7 years of professional medical coding experience with progressive management or supervisory responsibilities, preferably in a large academic environment. Must have experience working under demanding deadlines.
