Admissions invites applications for an Admissions Evaluator I to join their team. The individual assigned to this position is responsible for all processing activity related to the admission of new undergraduate and non-degree graduates to the University of Montana (UM).

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing applications.
  • Evaluating credentials.
  • Determining course equivalencies.
  • Making acceptance and residency decisions.

 

This position requires incumbent to develop:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of UM policies and procedures as well as Board of Regents policies for freshman and transfer students and the ability to communicate these policies to internal/external customers.
  • Knowledge of UM academic and student support programs.
  • Ability to process all applications for admission with limited or no supervision.
  • Ability to evaluate transfer credits to determine if courses are college level, the appropriate grading and credit conversion, appropriate general education credit and possible UM course equivalency.
  • Ability to interpret SOR residency policies and to make complex residency decisions. Prepare residency appeals for submission to the President's Office.
  • Provide support to the Missoula College's Admission Office.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Banner system.
  • Oversee special projects as assigned.

  • Ability to use standard office equipment.
  • Ability to manage and maintain confidentiality.

 

Minimum Required Experience

  • High School diploma and two (2) years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge/ability to learn of Banner software
  • Knowledge/ability to learn of University of Montana policies, procedures and organizational structure.
  • Knowledge/ability to learn of University of Montana academic and student support programs.

Position Details

Position Title:                  Admissions Evaluator I

Position Number:            006000

Department:                     Admissions

Work Schedule:               Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through

                                          Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year.

Salary:                              $16.219/hr

Current employee’s rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and will minimally be this posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the Compensation Department.

 

Union Affiliation:               FOCUS-MFPE

Probationary Period:        Six months minimum
