Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Web Marketing and Graphic Design Specialist for the College of Business (COB). The position provides comprehensive and direct project support for students, faculty, and alumni to effectively implement educational programs including specific grants, contracts, and programs related to community outreach, training, and dissemination of best practices. This position functions in partnership between the COB, and the Office of Marketing & Communications, but reports directly to the College of Business.
The position is responsible for various types of marketing-based writing, including writing for the Web, promotional materials, advertisements, video, and other persuasive forms for the College of Business. The position assists with web publishing, media relations and social media. The Specialist identifies and replicates best practices in marketing, multimedia design, website development, and graphics design to create professional materials for COB. The Specialist serves as an expert on the tools and techniques of media production, marketing, and web design while working to expand and enhance COB’s communication which includes but is not limited to the following: voice-over presentations/training modules; streamed videos; professional conference materials, animated screen captures; podcasts; webinars; websites; magazines and printed publications and other types of appropriate multimedia usage. The Specialist is further responsible for developing and implementing marketing and communications plans that support the strategic goals of the COB. The position coordinates web communications, print and other marketing services, and serves as a marketing liaison. The Specialist works closely with and follows the direction set by the Office of Marketing and Communication to align with the overall marketing strategy and priorities of the University.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years OR a Master’s degree and one (1) year of related experience.
Related Experience: Graphic design; website management; multimedia design/production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with writing style guides, such as AP style
- Experience with a Content Management System (CMS) for editing/creating website content
- Expertise in SEO, user experience or website design
- Awareness of digital accessibility
- Strong competency using Adobe Creative Cloud products for graphic design

Grants-in-aid for Faculty Employees
