Department Arena Box Office Job Summary Job Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 75% Manage the overall daily operations of the Lakefront Arena Box Office to include but not limited to staffing, scheduling, supervising and overseeing Box office operations. Manage and perform ticketing operation for events and venue needs. Monitor and maintain all ticketing functions including computers, software, data requirements and hardware. Keep abreast of changes in operating systems including Microsoft programs, ticketing platforms, general and specialized office equipment as needed. Monitor communication between all critical parties to ensure accurate and timely completion of ticket counts, ticket requests, event builds, inventory management, will call, guest list, and all other Box Office processes leading up to the actual event. Administer ticketing initiatives including, but not limited to, auctions, fan club sales, presales, sponsorship programs, promotional offers, and VIP packages. Maintain positive interaction with staff, promoters, vendors, and show representatives. Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure while meeting urgent deadlines. Provide technical expertise and support, which includes but is limited to; training Box Office and Lakefront Arena employees, for operating systems necessary for the function of ticket sales, events and daily processes. Supervise, motivate and maintain staffing to be proactive members of the Box Office team. 25% Train in technical ticketing system use, customer service requirements and phone etiquette. Execute accurate accounting reports Create, complete, and accomplish timely reports including reconciliation and accounting of all ticket sales for each event and daily balancing/reconciliation of all revenues collected from ticket sales/ancillary income while keeping reports competently filed and easily accessible. Resolve customer complaints by diffusing possibly volatile situations with discretion and sensitivity and maintaining superior customer service both in person, via electronic communications, and over the phone. Ability to perform other duties as assigned or requested by management staff of Lakefront Arena, including but not limited to; assisting and supporting any Lakefront Arena department or job function as necessary. Liaise with Athletic Department whenever Box Office assistance is approved for their ticketing operations. Ability to assume the duties of the Box Office Manager during his/her absence. Ability to assist the Business Manager with various assignments as/when needed. Ability to work long, irregular hours as dictated by Arena management and event schedule to include but not limited to; nights, weekends, and holidays. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or in lieu of degree, three years of previous ticketing experience with supervisory experience in computerized ticketing sales. Must have the ability to communicate well, both written and orally. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration Comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of Box Office operations, customer service techniques, computer operations and substantial managerial/supervisory experience in computerized ticketing sales. Thorough knowledge of accounting/cash management procedures with a progressive work record that includes a background in handling and accounting of sales revenue. Skill in computerized ticketing operations, Ticketmaster Host system preferred. Robust skills in guest relations, long term and immediate decision making, verbal/written communication, phone etiquette, computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, Ticketmaster).
