Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts is seeking temporary/part time faculty for Academic Year 2023-2024 with the ability to teach in one or more of the following Arts and Humanities departments and disciplines:

-Art and Art History
-Communication Studies
-Creative Writing
-English
-Film Studies
-History
-Music
-Philosophy and Religion
-Theatre
-UNCW Gender Studies and Research Center
-World Languages and Cultures
-Graduate Liberal Studies

The Academic Year 2023-2024 includes:
  • Summer 2023
  • Fall 2023
  • Spring 2024
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Undergraduate course teaching: Masters degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.

Graduate course teaching: Terminal degree in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.

Those with equivalent verifiable professional experience, certifications, and licensures in the discipline may also be considered.

The 16 departments within the college consist of Anthropology, Art & Art History, Communication Studies, Creative Writing, English, Film Studies, Graduate Liberal Studies, History, International Studies, Music, Philosophy & Religion, Public & International Affairs, Sociology & Criminology, Theatre, Gender Studies and Research Center, and World Languages and Cultures.

Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave. Temporary employees are subject to the Affordable Care Act guidelines.
