Responsibilities
- Prepare food following recipes and portion control standards
- Utilize kitchen utensils, appliances, and equipment for food preparation
- Serve food courteously with proper portion control
- Transport food items to customers or serving areas
- Wash, sanitize, and store kitchen items
- Assist with special events across the University and campuses
- Support other food services staff when needed
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- 0-12 months of previous restaurant/customer service experience
- Ability to handle various kitchen tools and equipment
- Understanding of food safety and handling procedures
- Basic math skills and ability to read written materials
- Effective communication skills in English
- Compliance with Housing and Food Services core values
- Knowledge of nutrition and portion control
- Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
- Must be 18 years or older and pass a background check
- Ability to lift up to 58 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs
- Stand/walk for extended periods in varying temperatures
- Climb stairs and work in fast-paced environments
- Exposure to chemicals, odors, and physical demands
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and during University closings
- ServSafe Certification and restaurant kitchen experience
- Receives general supervision from kitchen supervisor and restaurant manager
- Subject to Tuberculosis Testing policy and Hepatitis A Vaccine requirement
