What are the responsibilities and job description for the Access Administrator position at University of Pennsylvania Health System?
Access Administrator supports department with developing and implementing the goals and standards that directly support the strategic plan and vision for patient access & satisfaction of the Department across all divisions and locations. Compiles data and conducts special projects as necessary for departmental initiatives. Incumbent will work with Department leadership to monitor and optimize cost/benefit of practices, including size of practice/number of sessions and responsibilities for clinical support. Maintaining current training and certification for use of the APM scheduling and management system. Ensure that all staff are adequately trained and certified; optimizing use of the scheduling and reporting systems. The incumbent is responsible for utilizing and monitoring the clinical capacity calculator to ensure maximum session utilization and coverage. The Access Administrator will report on the analysis of access metrics for areas of opportunity and federally mandated reporting/compliance related to CMS quality measures, as well as Press Ganey for patient satisfaction scores around both access and wait time. In conjunction with other senior management staff, leads the management for room utilization across all locations for clinical activities, including clinical trial research. The Access Administrator will be a direct liaison with the access center to optimize and sustain one call scheduling through the use of the customized questionnaire and other techniques.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 7 plus years of progressively responsible positions in health care administration in a university/hospital setting
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Required Skills
- COMMUNICATION: Ability to communicate with internal and external constituents
- COMMUNICATION: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from others
- OTHER: Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- EMR: Experience using EMR systems
- Experience with EPIC, electronic questionnaires, protocols and template development, implementation & management
- General knowledge of professional fee and hospital billing procedures, including knowledge of fast-paced outpatient setting
- Ability to operate personal computer, printer and normal office equipment
- Ability to meet with contacts across CPUP as necessary to facilitate projects across Department of Surgery
