Job Description Summary

The mission of the Palliative and Advanced Illness Research (PAIR) Center is to generate high-quality evidence to advance healthcare policies and practices with the goals of improving the lives of all people affected by serious illness and removing the barriers to health equity that seriously ill patients commonly face. We are seeking an experienced senior project manager to oversee research and administrative operations for a portfolio of clinical trials and mixed methods studies focused on the improvement of palliative care service delivery and implementation. Kate Courtright, MD, MSHP provides faculty leadership of this portfolio.

Duties

Studies that the program manager will oversee include a mix of multi-health system, federally- and PCORI-funded projects in addition to small pilot projects and/or those under development. The successful candidate will be a part of the PAIR Center’s Project Management Core and be responsible for carrying out the following duties for Dr. Courtright’s portfolio:

Oversight of procedures including participant recruitment, enrollment, intervention implementation, survey administration, data collection, and subject remuneration, including liaising with clinical sites to ensure consistency and quality in overall study implementation

Supervision of junior research staff, including project managers, clinical research coordinators, temporary research staff, and students responsible for carrying out the procedures above.

Interfacing with data managers, analysts, and data scientists to inform the development of study databases, EHR-based interventions and reports, data entry and management protocols, statistical analysis plans, and reporting for study monitoring (data safety, subject accrual, outcomes assessment, adherence to protocols, adverse events).

Convening internal and external stakeholders, clinical site leads, advisors, and oversight committees for engagement activity and ad hoc meetings.

Maintaining compliance with all regulatory and sponsor reporting requirements.

Contributing to grant proposal and manuscript development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 7-10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's degree and 5-7 years of experience preferred.

Preferred

Prior experience in health services research. The candidate must be highly organized with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have experience with multi-site project management and demonstrable project management skills. The Program Manager will function independently in carrying out most responsibilities. Project Management Experience.
