Essential Functions
- Directs activities and teams across the University related to occupational safety, construction safety, and fire safety. Ensures compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
- Collaborates in strategic planning and assists the Director in developing and implementing the overall departmental strategic plan.
- Assists the Director in formulating and implementing policies and procedures.
- Ensures the goals and objectives for the department and the University are communicated and achieved.
- Develops and creates reports presenting statistical findings and analyses.
- Interprets and oversees enforcement of health and safety regulations and policies.
- Oversees and monitors any specific environmental health and safety problems; reports issues as required.
- Responds appropriately to safety issues as they arise
Physical Effort
Working in both office and field settings, conducting inspections, attending meetings, and responding to emergencies. The position may require occasional evening or weekend work in response to safety incidents or to conduct training. Requires extensive standing, moving, ascend/descend, or bending.
