Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics’ Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Certificate Program Coordinator will work closely with the Program Director and Deputy Director to implement the day-to-day activities of the graduate student MCH Certificate Program at the Arnold School of Public Health. In this role, the Program Coordinator will manage the MCH graduate certificate program; assist and coordinate administrative paperwork for the program; communicate and collaborate with Graduate Student Services and Graduate School personnel; develop and implement student recruitment and retention strategies; coordinate and conduct student enrollment activities; assist and coordinate in activities related to MCH curriculum; assist in program evaluation and reporting; schedule and participate in partnership meetings; and other tasks.


Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and two years related experience or Master’s degree in related field.


Preferred Qualifications
Preferential qualifications include prior experience in recruiting and working with undergraduate and/or graduate students from under-represented backgrounds; Familiar with USC systems, Peoplesoft, Finance Intranet; and MCH-related training/experiences; etc.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong oral and written communication skills and organization skills are expected. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, database software, social media.

This includes managing application materials and required paperwork within the ASPH and the Graduate School’s admissions tracking databases, organizing admission committee meetings, completing meeting minutes, notifying admission decisions, and responding to inquiries.

This includes assisting in and tracking mentor-mentee meetings, referring students to academic support services if needed, serving as the first point of contact for all inquiries, and ascertaining and implementing new programming to enhance the existing curriculum.
