Joining the Secret Service, Office of Investigations will allow you to support the enforcement, administrative, and protective activities of the Service.
This Vehicle Fleet Specialist position starts at a salary of $95,694.00 (GS-12, step 1), with potential to $126,198.00 (GS-12, step 10), depending on location.
Duties
The selectee will serve as a Vehicle Fleet Specialist in the Office of Investigations. Typical work assignments include :
- Establish maintenance schedules and ensure completion of vehicle accident reports.
- Provide technical advice and assistance to the staff on all matters associated with the management and operation of government owned / leased vehicles.
- Administer and maintain the Secret Service's Credit Card for gasoline usage : Issue credit cards, monitor and track usage.
- Maintain statistics on vehicle history and monitor vehicle inventory.

If selected for this position, you will be required to :
- You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
- One-year probationary period may be required.
- Complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required.
- Obtain and maintain a top secret Tier 5 clearance.
- Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
- Possess a valid U.S. state motor vehicle operator's license and maintain a valid license while you occupy the position.
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below :
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $95,694.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level performing the following duties :
- Applying Federal, State, or municipal regulations to the oversight of a fleet program;
- Coordinating procurement of vehicles and / or equipment for a fleet vehicle program; and
- Analyzing data to inform on the efficiency of a fleet vehicle program.
