Position Summary
The Library Assistant II for Resource Sharing is primarily responsible for performing and administering UIW Libraries Resource Sharing services including but not limited to managing Interlibrary Loan (ILL), on demand requests, and consortia resource sharing activities. Position is also responsible for data management and reporting. The Library Assistant II for Resource Sharing reports to the Director of Technical Services.

Description of Job Duties
- Uses automated library system (ILS) and ILLiad to process requests for materials not available through the UIW Libraries.
- Utilizes automated system of notification to library patrons when requested materials are available.
- Contacts liaison librarians when requests are unavailable through ILL for further communication with patron.
- Receives and logs materials borrowed from other libraries and prepares materials to be returned.
- Monitors and maintains expenses associated with allocated funding for ILL postage and freight.

Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge and proficient use of databases, discovery tools, and mainstream computer software such as Microsoft office;
- Knowledge of lending and borrowing functions for Interlibrary Loan processing;
- Working knowledge of library classification systems (Library of Congress);
- Solid understanding of software updates to support Interlibrary Loan functionality and ILS (Alma) integration and ILLiad/other electronic document delivery systems;
- Working knowledge of licensing terms applicable to the work of this position;
- Working knowledge of copyright guidelines applicable to the work of this position;
- Ability to maintain and troubleshoot photocopiers, scanners, and printers;
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
60 college hours.
Required Work Experience
- Two (2) years of experience working in libraries or relevant environment with direct responsibilities for fulfilling patron requests and working with collections utilizing library systems/platforms.
- At least one (1) year of leadership experience in a library or related environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience working with Interlibrary Loan borrowing and lending.
- Proficient in the use of ILLiad.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Work Hours
Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm with extended hours as needed including some evening and weekend hours on rotation.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift at least 20lbs and push book trucks weighing at least 100lbs.
- Ability to regularly move about library during course of duties.
- Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat to retrieve library materials.
