Job Summary
Overview
  • The Annual Campaigns Student Office Assistant is a key member of the team and helps provide support and implementation for a wide range of projects within the department.
  • The office assistant works and reports to the Director of Annual Campaigns to receive assignments and needs for the week.
  • Work hours depend on schedule and time of year, typically 12-15 hours a week. Student hours must remain within the allowed university HR hours.
  • Help drive a culture of philanthropy at the University of Utah.


Job Summary
  • Oversee and drive mail and stewardship projects:
    • Monthly donor stewardship thank-you cards and calls.
    • Implement mail projects and send out packets to donors.
    • First-time donor card mailings
    • And other projects.
  • Liaison with Salt Lake Mail and Print and campus areas.
  • Help monitor emails and calls to help field responses.
  • Help the Annual Campaigns team with any administrative projects as needed, such as:
    • Events or meeting needs (Handouts, presentations, set-up, clean-up…etc.)
    • Giving Day needs
    • Annual campaign needs
  • Assist the Director of Annual Campaigns with needs like:
    • Scheduling meetings
    • Personal communication & printing letters
  • Assist the content team if they need help on a project or help to capture content.
    • May help with live video of campus happenings
    • May participate in curating stories they see that would be relevant for donors and alumni to know about.

Responsibilities
  • Represent the U and annual campaigns in a positive light and be a campus partner to all.
  • Work Environment and Level of Frequency typically required: Nearly continuous office environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be an enrolled U of U student
Must be willing to learn

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exhibit high attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and exercise independent judgment
  • Able to work under general direction
  • Ability to stay organized and focused on details and quality, in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually, with the ability to take initiative and follow through on projects.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and inputting data.
  • Experience with Adobe creative suite or other graphics software and MS Office preferred.
