- 60% - The incumbent may also direct, monitor, and approve the actions, performance, and/or products of contractors and vendors who are providing goods or services to the University of West Florida. The incumbent reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent. Responsible to the Facilities Maintenance Superintendent for the day-to-day organization and execution of work scheduled or assignment. Provides direct supervision and technical assistance to skilled tradesman engaged in the inspection, construction, maintenance or repair of buildings and building systems. - (Essential)
- 30% - The incumbent supervises, administers and insures compliance with established inspection and preventive maintenance (PM) programs. Performs quality control inspections on completed repairs and maintenance. Prepares materials and manpower estimates for work to be performed working from blueprints, crude sketches, and written or oral instructions. - (Essential)
- 10% - Reviews drawings, specifications, and maintenance and repair manual for newly acquired buildings and/or equipment to determine frequency and revels of maintenance. Performs personnel actions to include pre-employment interviews, preparation of administration of performance appraisals, discipline and recommendation of terminating personnel assigned to his area. Trains, and/or obtains training for subordinates to insure that their skills keep pace with technical advances. Assist in the preparation of specifications for new tools and equipment. Provides input for the preparation of annual operating budgets. Performs other duties to assist in fulfilling the University’s mission as determined by management. - (Essential)
