Job Summary
The Counselor provides professional mental health counseling and consultation services for the campus community, incorporates a brief therapeutic model to address the emotional and behavioral needs of students, creates developmental programming to increase healthy lifestyle and coping behaviors across campus, and provides strategic direction and advocacy for university mental health policy and initiatives. The position features regular, predictable hours, no weekends, excellent benefits, and no insurance billing paperwork to be completed.
This fixed-term renewable position can be full-year at full-time, less than full-time at 12-month or as a 10-month fixed term renewable position with a seasonal work break over the summer (6/1-7/31).
A well-qualified candidate possessing the ideal combination of skills and experience can expect a starting offer between $60,000 and $65,000 annually and a generous paid leave package including:Vacation: 22 days/yearLegal Holidays: Nine legal holidays are observedPersonal/Floating Holidays: 4.5 days/yearSick Leave: Initial entitlement of 22 days which may be used during the first 18-months of employment (one day/month earned thereafter)
Minimum Qualifications
Independently licensed or licensed eligible in the State of Wisconsin as an LPC, LMFT or LCSW by date of hire
Master's degree in social work, counseling or related field
Experience providing therapy in a mental health setting
Preferred Qualifications
3 years or more of independent clinical practice as an LPC, LMFT or LCSW
Experience providing clinical supervision of mental health treatment to trainees or unlicensed staff
Experience working with BIPOC populations
Experience treating clients with eating disorders
Experience working with LGBTQ populations
Experience in sports psychology or treating athletes
Experience working with the college student population
Experience working with high risk and high acuity populations
Ability to provide bi-lingual treatment in Spanish and/or have expertise working with the Latinx population
Ability to collaborate effectively on a multidisciplinary team with other staff and positively contribute to a client care team
Target Salary Range
$60,000-$65,000 (full-time, 12-month salary)
