Job Summary

This position will primarily be responsible for the development and maintenance of Degree Works. Additionally, this position will provide technical and functional support for Ellucian Banner ERP and write data reports. This individual will serve as a liaison between technical support and personnel, functional users, faculty, and students. This individual works closely with end users and his or her IT colleagues to ensure that new and existing solutions are consistent with institutional standards, definitions, and practices and are documented well.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support mission-critical DegreeWorks. Includes, but is not limited to: once-yearly Scribing of newest catalog; end user training; troubleshooting of functional issues.
  • Assist in the implementation and configuration of new applications
  • Assist in the integration of new applications with existing applications and data sources
  • Document procedures, technical instructions and business knowledge
  • Assist with end-user training, product enhancement and product upgrades

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a field of Information Technology

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to read, parse, and comprehend advanced functional and technical documentation
  • Ability to think critically using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Ability to learn knowledge and skills related to specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipment to understand its implications and apply lessons to current and future problem solving and decision-making
  • Knowledge of Oracle, MS SQL Server, and other relational databases
  • Knowledge of procedural SQL programming languages such as PL/SQL and T-SQL
  • Knowledge of Linux- and Windows-based operating systems as well as shell-scripting and administration
  • Knowledge of common reporting and business intelligence tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and investigative skills accompanied with knowledge and familiarity of how large-scale enterprise applications and databases function in environments with a large user base
