Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Supports institutional repository functions, including publications, books, creative activities, ejournals, conferences, and projects, for the KSU community, including faculty, staff, and students. Promotes scholarly communications publications, university research or faculty and/or student works, for the library. Assists KSU community members with identifying and implementing Digital Commons solutions to various needs and projects.
Responsibilities
1. Maintains the collections of the institutional repository by identifying and evaluating new content, updating and maintaining existing content
2. Provides technical support for hosted collections
3. Assists faculty and students with copyright and authors rights, electronic publishing, and
online editing of electronic publications
4. Collaborates with academic colleges to manage the submission of student work
including dissertations and theses for digital publication
5. Serves as campus resource for Institutional Repository in absence of the Institutional
Repository Supervisor
6. Provides technological and metadata support for virtual events hosted on the
Institutional Repository
7. Provides statistical reporting about the use of the Institutional Repository to creators and
generates analytical reports for departments, colleges, and campus administrative groups
8. Writes and edits educational and promotional materials in support of the Institutional
Repository
9. Assists with editing content such as articles, news releases, media pitches, ad
copy, marketing copy, speeches, statements, letters, memos reports, and other forms of coomunication
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
Required Experience
Two (2) years related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in communications, database management, libraries, or other
relevant fields preferred
Experience with publishing lifecycle, including editing, or print or online publications
Understanding of copyright and open access

Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

Familiar with open access publishing platforms
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Suite products or Digital Commons software)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
