UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Medical Coding Auditor Supervisor to join our Compliance team. This opportunity is a REMOTE, full-time, Monday through Friday opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Summary
Reporting to Compliance Manager, UNM Health System Compliance, responsible for supervising the day-to-day compliance review/audit activities of the UNM Medical Group medical coding and billing auditors. Prepares and analyzes reports to monitor and improve auditing efficiency and accuracy and to evaluate workload allocation among auditors. Develops standard operating procedures and training for auditors, works with the Director to develop medical documentation policies for physicians and other billing providers, provides technical billing and coding advice to physician educators. Works closely with Compliance Manager and Executive Director, Compliance for the UNM Health System Compliance Department in identifying areas needing operational improvement.
Minimum Job Requirements of a Medical Coding Auditor Supervisor:
High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of medical coding experience. One-year experience in a Lead or Supervisory role preferred. Certification in at least one of the following: CPC, CPC-P, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT. Certification or certificate eligible for Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA). Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.
