What You'll Do as a Community Engagement Database Analyst
The Database Analyst is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Upbring’s Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge donor database analysis, data hygiene preparation of data filings for emails, events, and direct mail, serving as the lead trainer in Raiser’s Edge for team members, and including being a backup for gift processing, among other key activities with a collaborative and communicative team.

Work Standards for a Community Engagement Database Analyst
- Responsible for the overall usage, accuracy, efficiency, security, maintenance, administration, and development of Upbring’s donor database
- Proactively lead regular database hygiene and maintenance efforts, including duplication management, data appends, research and updates of specific datasets through imports, and periodic data audits, etc.
- Work with staff, to develop criteria for data selection to receive newsletters, direct response mailings, online campaigns, event invitations, or other mailings/emails
- Prepare standard and ad hoc mail and email files for direct response mailings, publications, events, emails, or other mailings. This includes developing and running queries, segmentation, imports, and exports and reviewing lists for accuracy and completeness before sending to internal or external sources
- Backup for online gift processing and creation or updating of general and campaign donation forms through Raiser’s Edge
- Managing the upkeep of stored data: updating contact information, reviewing for proper formatting of data entered by others, timely closing of action items, adding Wealth Engine information to records, address updates and deceased dates search info, report generation for review by managers.
- Identify and address both the opportunities and challenges of robust database use, proposing new and improved applications.
- Manage team member training for Raiser’s Edge
- Available to work on site at Cross Park office up to three days per week
Communication
- Ensure Raiser’s Edge data management policies, procedures and best practices are documented and up to date.
- Field and respond to donor inquiries regarding Upbring and/or the donor’s contributions to the organization as needed
- Lead annual process for reporting giving for donor tax receipting
- Pull donation reports, analyze trends, and report findings in monthly team meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Development Operations
Fiscal Management
- Work closely with the accounting department by providing monthly reconciliation reports
- Assists and serves as backup for gift processing during peak giving season

Qualifications
Community Engagement Database Analyst Minimum Qualifications
- 1 year experience in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge or Financial Edge database
- Strong people and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate, work, and interact with diverse groups of people
- 5 years of nonprofit organization experience
- Advanced skills in analyzing data for trends that have financial impact
- Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to use persuasive communication
- Have a high level of initiative and motivation
- Strong computer skills and advanced user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Community Engagement Database Analyst Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Certification from Blackbaud (bCRE-Pro)
- Experience working in a data-driven environment with Key Performance Indictors (KPIs)
- Experience with MailChimp, Chimpegration, Importomatic, and/or other third-party software that integrates with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge
- 2 years of supervisory and management experience
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Power Automate in conjunction with Raiser’s Edge
Physical Demands & Work Conditions
- This position requires sitting and looking and using a computer for long periods of time
- Lift, push, pull, move up to 50 lbs.
