Orchid Monroe powered by UPG is looking for a Quality Engineer based in Monroe, WI. Orchid Monroe is looking for a detail-oriented candidate that is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. Any relevant steel experience is preferred, but not required. We strive to build strong relationships with our customers by providing high level of service, professionalism, and strategic attention to our valued members.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain quality control system and documents, which may include but are not limited to: procedures, audits, controls, corrective actions, and calibrations
- Maintain control of procedural documents; write new procedures; revise existing procedures; ensure procedural compliance
- Conduct internal audits, document findings, and follow up on corrective actions
- Perform root cause analysis for internal issues and customer complaints; make recommendations for solutions
- Maintain records of quality issues, corrective action and general quality statistics, report on quality performance to management
- Inspect components and material; ensure compliance with blueprint requirements
- Work with external vendors to ensure quality standards are met, work with Purchasing and suppliers on material quality issues
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Three (3) years of experience in a quality position; manufacturing experience preferred
- Proficiency with measuring tools: micrometers, calibers, comparator, gages, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
- Ability to drive issues to closure
