About the Opportunity
Upkara is seeking a Controller to provide leadership to the HR and AP/AR team and assist with the implementation of a new ERP system. The Controller will be tasked with communicating financial information to the board and leadership. The Controller will be responsible for all aspects of treasury management, investor relations, employee grants, and financial audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage investor relations including providing updates on valuation and requests for information.
- Responsible for treasury management including the CD, bank transfers, and credit card oversight.
- Assist with the implementation of a new ERP system, NetSuite, specifically in Accounting/Finance.
- Oversee the accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and HR functions including managing the benefits offerings and implementing/improving policies and procedures.
- Manage employee grants and cap tables.
- Report financials to the board/leadership, such as budgeting, burn rate, and actual vs forecast.
- Support the QMS implementation.
- Handle financial audits and manage the CPA relationship.
About You
- Experience managing investor relationships.
- Experience managing grants and familiarity with the grant application process.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, specifically NetSuite, is ideal.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work flexibly in a startup environment.
