JOB SUMMARY: The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the success of the cross-functional efforts to bring new products to market in North America (United States and Canada), a $1Billion business unit. In this role you will leverage project management expertise to drive project management excellence in the North America Region of UPL by managing a select number of product development projects from idea to launch. You will collaborate closely with regional and global colleagues, utilize a suite of project management tools and resources, and play a key role in driving the North American and global business forward at UPL.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree and/or PMP certification.
  • 7-10 years’ experience in the agrochemical or LifeScience industry, preferably in a regional and/or global role.
  • Additional experience in a technical (regulatory, development), commercial, or finance field strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in building, managing, tracking, and reporting projects via project management software (UPL uses Planisware and Smartsheet).
  • Demonstrated success at managing projects from ideation to commercial launch.
  • Proven ability to lead with and without authority and within a matrix organization.
  • Strong time-management, problem-solving and communication skills are also required, along with the desire to be part of a rapidly growing and dynamic organization.
  • Ability to respond to changing priorities and high degree of flexibility.
  • Demonstrated skill at leading organizational change, both through authority and through influence.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties may be assigned:

  • Identify the cross functional team required to drive a given project to success.
  • In collaboration with the project team, develop a project plan within UPL PM systems including milestones, tasks, assigned, due dates, dependencies, etc. Incorporate new information and input into revisions of the project plan.
  • Organize and lead team and sub-team meetings as needed to keep the project on track and to address opportunities and challenges along the way.
  • Provide summaries and updates as needed to company leadership, global colleagues, etc.
  • Identify and share best practices with colleagues who are doing project management and with the global and regional PMO.
  • Participate / lead section of regional and global meetings related to assigned projects and to project management.
