Leadership opportuity available in Echocardiography! Join UPMC Passavant's dynamic Echo Team at our two acute care community hospitals offering advanced cradiac testing (TTE & stress echo) and advanced structural heart procedures (LAAO - Watchman and Amulet and TAVR). This position will oversee the McCandless and Cranberry locations.
Shift Details: This is primarily a Monday-Friday daylight, no weekends or holidays. Passavant offers free on-campus parking.
Purpose:
Ensures the efficient operations of the imaging department. Supervises staff and operations, ensures efficient work flow, delegates responsibilities, ensures efficient staffing levels, and timely communication to both staff and other members of management.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for interviewing and hiring decisions to maintain adequate staffing levels. Responsible for holding staff accountable to system values and behaviors.
- Monitors employee compliance with safety standards and ensure standards are enforced.
- Participates in the budgeting process. Maintain costs and meets budget for supplies and clinical staffing.
- Assists in the development, revision and implementation of department policies, procedures, and QA initiatives. Communicates and enforces policies and procedures to staff.
- Ensures that all quality control tests and procedures are conducted and documented and that performance of all equipment is accurate within established parameters to meet regulatory requirements. Ensures repairs are addressed in a timely manner.
- Ensures staff are properly oriented and performs annual performance evaluations of staff.
- Ensures efficient work flow, delegation of responsibilities, efficient staffing levels, and timely communication to both staff and other members of management are maintained throughout the department.
- Maintains records and reports for each staff member to ensure performance is met and has crucial conversations with staff when needed.
- Engages in staff recognition and staff empowerment while maintaining a focus on the patient experience.
- Remains current regarding industry changes and attends training sessions to maintain knowledge as necessary.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher in medical imaging technology preferred
- 4 years of imaging experience required
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
- Effective analytical ability and interpersonal skills
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Registry Required in area of specialty.
- CPR/BLS required.
- Act 33, 34, 73 as required by business unit.
