Job Posting for Team Leader, Transportation Services at UPMC

UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a full-time Team Lead to join their team! The shifts will be Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday from 9:00pm-7:00am. 

Purpose:
Coordinates the daily activities of the department, including assisting with employee training and performance assessment. Supervise the transporters in the movement of patients and equipment to and from assigned areas. Assists in facilitating complaint resolution.

Responsibilities:

·         Coordinate and assist with the evaluations and training of all personnel in the area of responsibility.

·         Perform all duties of Transport position as outlined in job title Transporter.

·         Report all problems and suggestions to the Shift Supervisor.

·         Coordinate the monthly in-services for the department with the Manager.

·         Maintain control, location, and inspection of wheelchairs and/or stretchers.

·         Assist Supervisors with monthly system-wide competencies on existing staff.

·         Develop an open working relationship with unit personnel and Supervisors.

·         Ensure that the daily work of all team members is completed and ensure that they go to their assigned locations.

·         In the absence of the Shift Supervisor temporarily act in a supervisory capacity; assume the responsibilities of this individual.

·         Maintain a courteous professional demeanor and communicate appropriately with patients, visitors, hospital personnel, and fellow employees always.

·         Safely transfer patients in and out of the hospital bed.
