What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Upper Valley Haven?
The Upper Valley Haven provides temporary shelter, supportive housing, food, and problem solving to those in need. The Haven campus is comprised of four buildings and its surrounding grounds and we take pride in providing a welcoming environment for all.
Overview
We are seeking a responsible and reliable team member who will ensure a high standard for cleanliness and safety on our campus. Primary duties include maintenance and general clean up of our administrative offices and bathrooms such as cleaning, mopping, and trash removal. Our Custodian manages routine clean up of our outdoor spaces including trash pick up, some shoveling and sanding, and other non-routine tasks as assigned. Also responsible for maintaining our inventory of cleaning supplies in a clean and orderly manner.

Hours & Compensation
This is a 32 hour per week position. The hourly pay rate is $19.00 per hour. Hours are Monday through Friday with flexible start time from 7:00-7:30 AM and end time from 1:30-2:00 PM.
Requirements

- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-directed but knows when to ask for support
- Adapts easily to changing circumstances
- Interacts comfortably with people with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds
- Able to lift 40 pounds, move about, and be on one's feet for several hours at a time
Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in janitorial or other relevant work experience.
